2023 Recommended Budget

On July 13, the County Manager presented his 2023 Recommended Budget of $521,002,506. The 2023 Recommended Budget was developed to focus on key priorities such as addressing workforce shortages with compensation adjustments to preserve service levels while maintaining a level property tax rate. Estimated assessed valuation growth in Sedgwick County is 7.34 percent and 5.72 percent in Fire District 1. Property tax rates are estimated to be 29.370 mills for Sedgwick County and 17.889 mills for Fire District 1. Commissioners are expected to vote on the 2023 budget on August 24 after holding two public hearings (August 3 at 6 p.m. and August 24 at 9 a.m.) and an online public budget forum.
